The Director of Donor Engagement and Stewardship is a member of the Community Foundation’s Development Team. The person in this position will develop, collaborate on and implement a robust and gratifying donor experience that shares the transformational power of philanthropy with our donors.

The following are fundamental duties that an individual who holds the position must perform. This is not an exhaustive list. Other duties, in addition to these essential job functions, will be assigned in the discretion of the Vice President of Development.
Develop strategies and opportunities to strengthen the Community Foundation’s long-term relationships with existing donors, prospects, fund holders and professional advisors.
Work in collaboration with Community Foundation staff to develop strategic and creative individualized stewardship plans for the Community Foundation’s donors and prospects.
Collaborate with other staff to leverage donor recognition opportunities, build awareness, and develop value-added and meaningful engagement experiences for donors.
Manage and direct a comprehensive acknowledgement process for all gifts made to and through the Community Foundation.
Develop segmented fund holder annual reporting and work with colleagues to prepare fund reports, including financial information, program and grant recipient information, and other examples of the impact of giving through the Community Foundation.
Implement a comprehensive recognition program for donors, prospects, fund holders, professional advisors and other constituencies, including planning and executing events, honor roll lists and impact correspondence.
Manage a portfolio of donors through stewardship, engagement and cultivation for future gifts.
Maintain and develop data coding for marketing, stewardship and development communications using protocols as established, including but not limited to Legacy Society, Endowment Society and the Advisors Circle.
Travel and attend meetings, presentations and events outside the office including evenings and weekends.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including superior and proven customer service skills and the ability to secure the confidence of top donors and prospects through long-term relationship building strategies.
Ability to communicate well with people of diverse backgrounds and contribute to the climate of inclusivity.
Capacity for creative and innovative problem solving.
Strong computer proficiency, including mastery of Microsoft Office software, internet competency and database management analysis and manipulation.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize work and adjust to multiple demands while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Ability to take initiative and follow tasks through to completion in a timely manner.

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required.
Experience in donor relations, customer relations, sales, fundraising, public relations or similar setting preferred.
